Eau Claire, Wisconsin has a wealth of quality health care available. Residents have access to hospitals, clinics and pharmacies that
provide services to suit everyone’s needs. A variety of alternative medicine such as aromatherapy, holistic medicine, and chiropractic care
can be found in area. Eau Claire has more than 70 dentists in the area specializing in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, sedation dentistry, root canals, pediatric dentistry, oral
surgery and periodontal care. The area also offers a wide variety fo health care services for seniors, including nursing homes and community
based residential facilities.
Working in partnership with Mayo Clinic, Luther Midelfort has more than 220 physicians representing a wide range of medical specialties, including cardiac and orthopedic surgery, cancer and trauma care programs. Mayo One, an emergency medical helicopter, offers surrounding communities access to the area’s only nationally verified Level II
verified trauma center. Based in Eau Claire with 304 hospital beds, Luther Midelfort also provides services for patients at regional locations. Luther Midelfort Chippewa Valley serves patients who live in and around Bloomer, Chippewa Falls and Colfax. Luther Midelfort Northland has locations in Barron, Cameron, Chetek, Prairie Farm and Rice Lake. Luther Midelfort Oakridge has locations in Mondovi and Osseo.
Marshfield Clinic Eau Claire Center is a branch of Marshfield Clinic, a medical institution with a long history of serving the health care needs of patients. A new addition houses an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), state-of-the-art imaging center and cosmetic and plastic surgery department. Marshfield Clinic Eau Claire Center provides specialty care to patients from throughout western Wisconsin. Over 150 physicians and other health care professionals provide care in 35 specialty areas.
OakLeaf Surgical Hospital is part of the Oak Leaf Medical Network, and has 60 surgeons in 15 specialties performing surgical procedures at OakLeaf Surgical Hospital on an outpatient or overnight stay basis. Areas of specialization include: Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, Gynecology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Hand Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery,
Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Otolaryngology, General Surgery, Pain Services, Podiatric Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery.
Sacred Heart Hospital an affiliate of the Hospital Sisters Health System, is an acute care hospital, also offering services at its Emergency Medical and Trauma Center and Regional Cancer Center. The hospital’s Brain and Spine Institute offers some of the most advanced technologies in neurosurgery. In October 2008, Sacred Heart Hospital opened its Smart OR™ surgical suite. The hospital is one of a very few in the country to have this system for brain, spine and trauma patients.
The Health Education Center at Chippewa Valley Technical College was built in 2004. More than 20 health programs and the CVTC Dental Clinic, including dentists in training from the Marquette School of Dentistry, comprise the Center. The Dental Clinic has grown to serve thousands of patients each year. UW Health Eau Claire Family Medicine Clinic is also on site. The CVTC nursing school has become one of the largest in Wisconsin. World class simulation augments clinical training in producing a new generation of health professionals.
